“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8

I’m learning to train my eyes, my heart and mind to look for the beautiful things. Philippians 4:8. Keeping my mind focused on the Lord

So through a heart, seeking that which is good – I’ve started giving thanks once again in 2014. It’s in giving thanks, I’m finding beauty. Beauty that makes my soul want to sing of His unfailing, unwavering goodness and grace. I’d love for you to join me in counting our blessings!

{the sweet & simple blessings of life}
for which I am forever grateful. | April 2014

“I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.” Psalm 13:6

1st:  How blessed to have family and friends just as overjoyed as we are about our new little one, and the journey that lays ahead of us!

Actually learning to cope and thrive without a modern appliance I use ALL day long, every day. 10th day without a dryer! Thankful for weather I can actually hang clothes out in as well! #ineedaclothesline

3rd: Being able to break away from the “normal” and find some cheap good old-fashioned family fun. {Skating.} And learning I’m not as young as I use to be. ;0)

4th: Reminded that at the end of ALL this paperwork –  there is a blessing waiting to be held in our arms!

5th: For a broken dryer, that allowed us to get a brand new one! {After 3 used dryers in almost 12 years of marriage – it was about time!} 🙂 {13 more days of waiting to be delivered.} I. can. do. this. Thank you, Lord for your provision.

6th: Being able to come together with other believers in Christ to worship and encourage each other in the Lord.

7th: Learning more about the country our daughter will be coming from, and realizing there are SO many who need Jesus and His love. <3 My heart aches.

8th: Being able to tackle more than I was originally planning on!

9th: Listening to their little hearts pour out love & prayers for their new little sister. Melts my heart.

10th:  Being apart of a
small group of like-minded Mom’s digging in God’s word and encouraging
each other in our motherhood, homeschooling and encouraging each other
to grow deeper with Jesus. {And no gossip present.} <3 it!

11th: For the hubs and I surviving a 12 hour fast – for labs. Before we know it, this adoption process will come to an end. Thankful also for being able to grab a quick bite to eat before heading our separate ways. Precious moments that are rare these days.

Once a month fellowships with our great group of teens from Church.

For a gloomy day – that brought much needed spring rain.

14th: Applying for our passports, and getting more documents ordered & notarized. Each day only brings us that much closer to holding our new little one. <3

After 24 days without a dryer – I was blessed with a NEW ONE! Isn’t it a beauty?!

16th: Getting so close to being done with school, we can almost taste it! :0)

17th: For the chance to be able to meet up with a friend I’ve known for 16 years, and haven’t seen in SEVERAL years! {Started out as pen pals and now long lasting friends.} <3 And for my Momma who could watch the Munchkins while we visited.

18th: For a husband who tries his very best to surprise me, and loves me despite the discoveries that get noticed, before it’s time. ;0)

19th: For 32 years of life. And for 25 of those being secure in God’s grace and heaven bound when this life is over, And for two very Godly parents who raised me up to know Jesus on my own, and who I believe gave me a good “head start” on life. For 16 years of knowing my life long sweetheart – and almost 12 years of those being married, for 11+ of those years of being a mommy….for all the trials and blessings the Lord has allowed to occur in my life. Still growing & learning…and oh, so very blessed. <3For a gorgeous
day, being able to work in the garden planting potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce & spinach. For watching my husband and oldest son plant my birthday tree! For the
Munchkins who love their Momma deeply – and who thoroughly decorated the dining room for my birthday celebration. For a husband who surprises me often and for a husband who made dinner along with one
of my favorite strawberry desserts. Thank you, Lord – I’m so loved and spoiled greatly.

20th: For Resurrection Sunday. Because without Christ’s death on the cross, this life would be worth nothing. But, because of His love & grace, He’s made it EVERYTHING. Life with meaning, and truly one worth living for.

For a Resurrection Sunday, spent with my husbands family ALL at Church,
and for being able to enjoy the rest of the day spent with my family. So, so,

21st: For MONDAY. Yes, I said it! Because Monday, allows me to start a new week FRESH. Bringing with it new goals to make this new week even better then the last!

22nd: For crazy days in Motherhood, I’m certain they will be missed. Every. Single. One.

23rd: The color GREEN. It’s everywhere in nature and it’s BEAUTIFUL!

24th: For the ability and time in my life to meet with other Godly woman once a week, that enable us to encourage and inspire each other to dig in the word, and build each other up in the Lord. So, so, blessed to have a network of like-minded Mom’s and friends.

25th: For our first officially face-to-face meeting with our social worker for our homestudy! And being encouraged that we are WAAAY ahead of the game with all our paperwork. : )

26th: For a husband who is willing and able to volunteer his talents and time for the Lord. <3
27th: Celebrating 4 years of life with this little man!

For down moments – because that means more good moments are just around the corner!

29th: Finding the time to get several hours of parenting training in for our home study.

30th: For rainy spring days, and more parent training completed.

lose an opportunity for seeing anything that is beautiful; For beauty
is God’s handwriting–Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky,
in every fair flower, And thank God for it as a cup of His blessing.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
