Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8

{the sweet & simple blessings of life}
for which I am forever grateful. | August 1st-9th  2014

“I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.” Psalm 13:6

1st: For my children’s creative minds, and love for creativity and imagination. And my daughters love for piano. ; )

2nd:
For places that enrich children and their families with history. Giving them the opportunity to experience hands on day to day life and chores from years ago. Also for some much needed family time at no expense. Also thankful for yearly memberships! : )

3rd:
As my Momma heart is often times weary and just plain tired, I find that some Sundays are just plain harder than others to wake up and get going and out of bed, and getting the strength to get to Church as family. I’m so thankful that these end up being the best Sundays. I never regret being in Church once I’m there. Thankful the Lord knows what we need, we we need it! Though, I’m still tired physically, I’ve been fed spiritually, and it truly makes all the difference. : )

4th: Thankful for the silliness that goes in in our home. This kitten came walking around the corner like this. My daughter’s new “barbie horse”. And that cat seems to be finding it’s way in the house more than I prefer – and yes there is help involved. 😉 If it wasn’t for liter boxes and hair, I might consider…

5th:
Thankful for the precious heart melting moments. As 11 year old L
practices her piano lessons “This is the Day” – her 2 year old brother N
sits in the corner of the living room by the piano singing “This is the
Day, this is the day, this is the day….”. Adorable how he heard a
familiar hymn and just started singing the oh so familiar words he’s
obviously heard before. So grateful for the moments
that I’m able to see a glimmer of hope in parenting and am reminded they pick up
on everything! Even the ugly. Oh be careful little mouth what you
say…

For
days I feel overwhelmed and plans change, where I am reminded where my
daily strength comes from. For simple easy meals on days like these. For
fresh blueberries and their scrumptious flavor turned into homemade
steaming hot blueberry pancakes.

6th: For a productive day, doing smaller batches of preserving. Yay, for pickles & sauerkraut!

7th: For  the feeling that comes with having a clean house. And for the fellowship with other like-minded believers.

8th: For our first ever end of summer cousin hang weekend. And for surprises and fun!

9th: For the excitement
of getting the official date of our immigration fingerprints for the
adoption! And how the Lord worked out the timing of it all with hubby’s
work schedule!

For good old-fashioned fun, homemade pizza, late night ice-cream before bed, water balloons, weenie/smore roast, homemade donuts, relay races, and just a lot of of fun being together over the weekend. : )

“Never
lose an opportunity for seeing anything that is beautiful; For beauty
is God’s handwriting–Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky,
in every fair flower, And thank God for it as a cup of His blessing.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
