Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8
{the sweet & simple blessings of life}
for which I am forever grateful. | september 1st-7th  2014

I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13:6

1st: For someone’s trash that became our treasure. A FREE screen door that could be revamped to fit our front door. For the squeak and the slam that still is left in the door – oh how sweet the sound to this momma’s ears. And thankful for the many more years left in this little earthly treasure.

2nd:
Being able to enjoy one of our last “corn feasts” for the summer.

3rd:
For the chance to visit with friends for an afternoon before they leave back home to California. It’s Christian friends like these – that you can really pick up right where you left off. Wish they lived closer, but maybe one day they’ll move back to Iowa.

4th: For the GREAT NEWS today that our USCIS Immigration was APPROVED! Now to actually get the “official” in the mail and get our Dossier sent off!

5th: For a late night my husband and I stayed up juicing our concord grapes. And for the absolutely intoxicating aroma that fills the house each year. {Next week – hopefully the red grapes will be ready!} Looks like we’ll have another decent batch of grape jelly & grape juice this year!

6th: For beautiful God-honoring weddings! For GORGEOUS September weather, a beaming bride, and for a testimony of “waiting for the right one.” God’s timing and plan is ALWAYS best.

7th: For the great group of young adult’s we have at Church. For their willingness to stick with us through some new changes, who have willing hearts to learn and seek out God and his plans for their lives, and who are faithful in their attendance.

Never lose an opportunity for seeing anything that is beautiful; For beauty is God’s handwriting–Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky,
in every fair flower, And thank God for it as a cup of His blessing.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
