Every year on July 4th we Americans celebrate our independence from British rule. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ like me, we have an even greater and more significant liberty to celebrate daily.
True FREEDOM in CHRIST JESUS!
The Bible spills over with descriptions of the blessings we have in Christ.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

What freedom has been given to us as believers?
Freedom from Sin & Guilt
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Jesus took the penalty of hell that we deserved, and bore our sin & guilt on the cross Himself.
As believers in Christ Jesus we can experience true freedom because sin no longer reigns over our lives. {This does not mean we never sin. We are just no longer bound in chains by our sins, and therefore strive to live our lives holy for our Lord and Savior. {As a believer in Jesus Christ, we are not perfect, we are just being perfected by the grace of Jesus Christ, not because of anything we’ve done, but because of what HE has done on the cross.} Romans 6, says sin no longer has dominion over us because of the work of Christ that has brought freedom.
So as an American citizen celebrating our Independence this 4th of July, remember to celebrate the freedom God has granted you as a citizen of this nation. But don’t neglect to celebrate true freedom in Christ and the sacrifice He gave to secure it.
Thank you, to all whom have served our country and have paid a great price to help keep our countries freedoms. We solute you!
