It’s so very important to be completely immersed in the Word of God daily. And when we are unsure of something or find ourselves wrestling with our role as a Godly Homemaker, that is when we must be digging deeper into the Word to find the answer. The worlds lies so easily creep in, and tear away at our hearts quickly. We must be mindful and alert at all times!
“For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.”
1 Corinthians 2:10
1 Corinthians 2:10
We must be careful coming to “our own” conclusions, because our hearts can easily be deceived.
“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately wicked; Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9
So how do we as homemakers find our rightful calling as Christian women?
Jesus and His Word are the answer!
“…to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2-3
“The Lord has also…”given to us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness…” 1 Peter 1:4
“ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
All of these verses {and more} are PROOF of God’s love for us!
Everything He ever wanted or intended for us to know about life is in His word!
When you start to feel unfit or inadequate for the job, remember…
God says you’re worth far more than RUBIES!

{The first ever piece of jewelry given to me from my husband “fiance at the time.” A ruby necklace with a small diamond. After we were engaged he told me, he picked a ruby because I was a very rare jewel, and it was so fitting. ;0) Romantic eh? I think so!}
“Who can find a virtuous woman? {A woman of noble character.} For her worth is far above rubies.”
Proverbs 31:10
Proverbs 31:10
This verse does not say that such women are nonexistent oh no, it simply states that they should be admired and held in high regard because they like noble men, are rare. It also mentions that they are more valuable than rubies.
Did you know that rubies are 300x more rarer than white diamonds?
I also find it interesting that the Ruby is associated with love and vivacity, passion and power. And the color red is the color of love. The ruby radiates a warmth and strong sense of vitality {meaning: exuberant, capacity for survival or for the continuation of a meaningful or purposeful existence.”} . Rubies are said to be the “king of the gemstones.” For thousands of years, the ruby has been considered one of the most valuable gemstones on Earth. It has everything a precious stone should have: magnificent color, excellent hardness and outstanding brilliance. In addition to that, it is an extremely rare gemstone.
So when you get discouraged this week…remember, how precious a RUBY is. Remember, how rare they are…remember God holds you and your Godly homemaking in very high regard. You are of great importance in a world that is crying out for a Savior!
“I believe that a godly home is a foretaste of heaven. Our homes, imperfect as they are, must be a haven from the chaos outside. They should be a reflection of our eternal home, where troubled souls find peace, weary hearts find rest, hungry bodies find refreshment, lonely pilgrims find communion, and wounded spirits find compassion.” – Jani Ortlund
A Challenge This Week:
- Write these verses down, and place them in a spot you can see them over and over again: 1 Corinthians 2:10, Jeremiah 17:9, Colossians 2:2-3, 1 Peter 1:4,
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - Memorize just one of the verses this week! {If you are ambitious learn ‘em all!}
- When you get discouraged this week with your job as homemaker, remember: “God says you’re worth far more than RUBIES!”
- Keep a consistent time in the Word of God.
- Keep Praying throughout the day – The Bible reminds us to “pray without ceasing.” We don’t necessarily need a set time to sit down and wait for that perfect moment of quietness. {I’ll break it to you gently, IT WILL NEVER COME.}
The Lord hears us through the chaos! And He longs for an ongoing relationship, not just a set time, but ALL THE TIME!
